Tensar Geosynthetic Stabilisation Grid (TGSG) is a biaxial geogrid used in the stabilisation of aggregates in the construction of temporary roads, haul roads and hardstands. The geogrid is made from a punched polypropylene sheet, which is then drawn in two directions to form rigid ribs and junctions capable of mechanical interlocking with the granular aggregate layer and providing lateral confinement.

Tensar geosynthetic biaxial geogrids can solve ground stabilisation problems because they interlock very efficiently with granular materials. When granular particles are compacted over these grids, they partially penetrate and project through the apertures to create a rigid and positive interlock.

WHY CHOOSE TENSAR GEOSYNTHETIC BIAXIAL GEOGRIDS?

  • Two primary directions of strength and stiffness
  • Efficiently interlocks with granular materials
  • Reduces aggregate thickness
  • Increases pavement life
  • Controls differential settlement

Installation

The installation of TGSG biaxial geogrid is straightforward with the geogrid able to be rolled out directly over the subgrade having removed any major protrusions such as rocks or tree stumps. Typical road aggregates are used with TGSG Biaxial geogrids for constructing temporary roads, haul roads or hardstands.
